Hey, if you're into stand-up paddleboarding, you gotta check out the mid coast on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. It's seriously amazing - the landscapes are stunning, the water's crystal-clear, and the weather's just perfect (well mostly). It's no wonder why us locals love to hit the water and paddle around.
One of my favorite spots is the Port Noarlunga reef, which is super popular for diving and snorkeling. There's so much marine life to see - colorful fish, seahorses, and sometimes even dolphins and the odd seal. And when you're paddling around the reef, it's like a whole new world opens up beneath you.
The Onkaparinga River is another must-visit spot for paddleboarding. It's over 100 kilometers long and the scenery is just breathtaking - cliffs, sand dunes, wildlife, and more. If you're up for a challenge, head to the river mouth where the currents and waves are no joke. It's a killer workout that'll help you improve your balance and core strength. But even if you're not an expert, you can still catch a wave or just go with the flow.
For a more chill paddle, you can't go wrong with Moana's coastline. It's got a long sandy beach, clear water, and small waves that make it perfect for the beginner paddler.
If you're looking for some serious views, check out Port Willunga Beach - the cliff faces are breathtaking, the water's crystal-clear, and the sand is pure white. Oh, and if you don't have your own board, don't worry. SUP Down South has got you covered. Julian's got some high-quality boards for rent so you can paddle to your heart's content. If you really loved the experience hit us up at SUP MOJO and you can purchase a board package that's perfect for you.
After a day on the water, you gotta hit up the McLaren Vale wine region. Trust me, it's the perfect way to unwind. You can taste some seriously good wines, check out the vineyards, and indulge in some delicious local food. It's seriously the cherry on top of an already epic day.
